Golden Ring Cities – Suzdal

Suzdal is perhaps one of the most interesting of the ‘Golden Ring’ cities North East of Moscow, and one of the oldest remaining towns in Russia with records showing its history dates back to at least 1024 AD.
The Streets of New York part 1

On our recent two weekend trip to New York (and a few days in Vancouver in the middle) I was pretty determined to some photos for my course in the form of Street Photography, candid shots of people. I of course wanted to combine this with my usual mix of architectural oddities so when we arrived and had showered in the hotel we went for a little walk to see what we could see.
Early Morning walks around Oxford

Whilst on a visit back to oxford we stayed in the Randolph Hotel, very nice, very plush, very English! A couple of the mornings had some amazing light at dawn just as the sun was rising and I had a wander around.
Breaking the Ice on the Moskva

Whilst Lou and did a boat cruise on the River Moskva in the summer (on Moscow day) on a small boat with about 20 other people, in the winter this isn’t possible, however there is a longer cruise on an icebreaker.

Here in Moscow the Autumn days of falling leaves in parks seem to be all too short but this last weekend was one such weekend, nice ‘crisp’ (cold-ish, but no rain) weather, and still had to catch up that the failed attempt at a walk in the park last weekend.
