Thanks, we managed to take them as the sun was dropping behind the buildings. I used a Canon 5D MKII, and actually the 24-105mm L lens for the majority of the shots (And a 50mm for some), although I am going lens shopping in the coming weeks.
And yes, the portrait shots especially are done to a brief and for these it was important to show all the shots even if the changes between them are subtle.
The single shot posts are what I generally post to Flickr or to my photo-a-day blog (even if I am behind in posts to both).
I had a look, there are Windows 7 drivers and updates for your model, go to http://support.asus.com/download and put your model number in the search box on the left and category to search from set to ‘All’.
You will need to update the BIOS too, so download the the latest BIOS upgrade tool from the list that comes up, you will need the latest BIOS update too, use the tool to update the BIOS. Windows 7 feature support have been added to the BIOS update, so thi swill be a good start, but update all other drivers too.
So the problem you are having is you have a different motherboard/main board manufacturer – what is the model of the laptop? Have you looked to see if there are any firmware updates?
Yeah I have a bunch of shots from a park/forest too, but doing a separate post for them tomorrow. Might have a play around with angles like you say, see what that results in.
No worries, keep in touch, should be here for a year or two ourselves. And I like your ‘Why Moscow?’ post, that seemed to be the universal response when we said we were moving here!
I agree, I had a lot of problems with light on the day, and a few of the shots are slightly cold. I am looking around for a decent reflector for this purpose. I should have tidied them up in Lightroom, but I was under pressure to give them the shots very quickly, and I had a new monitor I didn’t get around to calibrating properly.

Corporate Photography - Traditional Headshots
October 7th, 2009 at 2:58 pmHi Shaun,
I agree, I had a lot of problems with light on the day, and a few of the shots are slightly cold. I am looking around for a decent reflector for this purpose. I should have tidied them up in Lightroom, but I was under pressure to give them the shots very quickly, and I had a new monitor I didn’t get around to calibrating properly.
But thanks for the feedback.
Cheers,
Phil
