Tania – Outdoor Portraits 2

This was another exercise for my course, involving concentrating on the expression on the face of the subject, especially the eyes as they look directly at the camera, slightly away from the camera, and even directly away from it.

I really like the results here, especially this first shot:-

  1. Phil, wonderful, the first one, the expression, the tones.

I have a question for you, have you ever thought of choosing for publishing only one or maybe two shots? It’s your blog and your choice but looking at your pictures I have sometimes the feeling that you put online lots of identical shots. This is done on purpose?

    Andrey – Thanks.

And yes, the portrait shots especially are done to a brief and for these it was important to show all the shots even if the changes between them are subtle.

The single shot posts are what I generally post to Flickr or to my photo-a-day blog (even if I am behind in posts to both).

Great tone in these photos, what camera and lens do you use?

Thanks, we managed to take them as the sun was dropping behind the buildings. I used a Canon 5D MKII, and actually the 24-105mm L lens for the majority of the shots (And a 50mm for some), although I am going lens shopping in the coming weeks.
