Travel Photography – Egypt – Kom Ombo
The Templeof Kom Ombo is actually a double temple dedicated to two gods, the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. The temple was built and added to by the Ptolemys, but like a lot of ancient Egyptian temples it was also used by Coptic Christians as a church, and hence some of the images of the Egyptian gods have been defaced.
Like the Temple of Horus you can get as close as ou want to the temple walls and therefore it is great for getting some good shots, and tripods are not a problem either. Click on the images to see the larger version, and you can see more of my Egypt photos on Flickr.
